Well,I'm sorry to say but this book was not one of my favorites. I had a hard time just trying to get through it. It just dragged on. I wanted to just give up on it but since I paid for it I completed it. I'm sorry for giving just one star because l don't want any writer to think that their work is lacking. I'm not going to stop reading her work. I hope to enjoy her next book I pick.Product details

I really like this book when you lose a loved one of shows how long lost friends come back together. That's what happen with Shonelle and John they rekindled their friendship and became more than friends whatever obstacles came in their way they face it together.
Great storyline!
It was nice knowing that they were friends first and foremost. Although they were both suffering from the loss of a brother and a friend, they were there for one another. It was great they had so much in common and it developed into a romantic relationship.
I just couldn't lose myself in the story.
The characters were not introduced well enough for us to get a good idea of who they are, and invest ourselves in their story.
The author breaks the 4th wall repeatedly, "...she didn't know <future reference> ...", "...they didn't know then that...<some other future reference>", etc. Why can't the story unfold, letting the readers see the transformation of the characters' relationship for themselves.
There is too much repetition of ideas; tautology. Get my drift...
I couldn't get past the second time the characters meet, but I rate the book higher than one star because the grammar, and proofreading is not as atrocious as lots of others in this genre.
A good story
Don't waste your time or money. I kept reading because it received such positive reviews but it didn't get any better and the suspense plot felt like an after thought. The characters did not talk to each other in a realistic way. It was stilted and way too formal. Even the characters in internal dialogue was unbelievable. What American living in NYC uses the word "indeed" and if the word "lovely" had been thrown about one more time I was going to throw my tablet. As a social worker in a an emergency department who works with a lot of cops it was obvious the writer did not do any research on any of the subjects she was writing about. The main character kept referring to her "depression" after a death of someone significant only a month later as if she should be behaving as if nothing bad had happened. She was grieving which is normal and for the character not expect herself to not be up to her eyebrows in sadness at such a major loss having had prior losses was ridiculous.That's just one example, I could go on. I'm sure I am not the only reader who places great stock in reviews and I felt betrayed when I finished this book. I was torn over giving it one star but the word "hate" in the rating stopped me.
I really tried to like this book and finish it, but it was just dragging and the characters were so uninteresting. I'm disappointed because it actually has a pretty good premise.
The plot and story was good. The style of the writing was not to my liking. It was more narrative and repeated phrases too many times. The sex was meant to be loving but they use coarse language and certain descriptive words that me shake my head and laugh. Grammar and idealism a little to hard to fully believe. 2.5 stars.
